Biography

Phillip A. Talbert began his career in event management with the City of Detroit over

Thirty years ago at the tender age of 17

 

Mr. Talbert served on the Detroit International Freedom Festival Committee, Detroit World Series Celebration Committee, Detroit 300 Festival management and Sail Detroit Committees, the 1988 Papal Visit Committee, Desert Storm Parade committee, National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship Committee, Red Wing Victory Rally Committee for three championship years, Olympic Torch Relay Committee, Detroit Piston Championship Parade Committee, a chairperson of the Mayor’s Employee Recreation Committee, and numerous music festivals. 

 

While at the City of Detroit Mr. Talbert received two Spirit of Detroit awards, mayoral appreciation awards from three sitting Mayor’s, and the Federal Reserve Executive Board award for most outstanding employee administrative/supervisory among city, state and federal employees. 

 

Mr. Talbert in 2006 formed Total Access Events and Talbert & Associates.  Total Access Events and Talbert & Associates have provided event and project consultations and/or served as promoter for AAA Michigan, Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion, Clear Channel Radio Detroit, CBS Radio Detroit, Wasserman Media Group of Los Angeles, Watt’s Up Inc., The Parade Company, Belle Isle Botanical Society, Diamond Jack River Tours, Detroit Wayne County Health Authority, Red Bull North America, UAW, Live Nation Worldwide, Palace Sports and Entertainment, Mountain Sports International, City of Detroit Recreation Department, The Detroit Grand Prix, Andiamo Catering and Events, Town Square Live, Michigan Neighborhood Partnership and C3 Presents, Paxhau Productions, Shell Oil Company, and Green Curtain Events among others. 

 

Mr. Talbert also believes in giving back to his community and has received numerous volunteer leadership awards from the United Negro College Fund for his work with the UNCF indoor Walkathon, and continues to work with the 51st annual Adopt a Child Christmas Program serving as Co-Chairperson of the executive committee, which serves over 3500 children.  Mr. Talbert also serves as Chairperson of the newly formed Detroit Sports Zone Inc., which provides leisure opportunities and exposure to youth, and adults of Detroit.
